CSR Project SAHI

Let all hear!

BGGTS partnered with SAHI, an 11-year-old Indian NGO, in an initiative to bring the sounds of the world to hearing-impaired children as part of its CSR activities. These children belong to less privileged sections of society, mostly from rural areas, and did not have access to modern medical treatment or could not afford effective treatment options.

SAHI strives to help underprivileged children with hearing impairment. It organizes screening camps in rural areas periodically for children under 15 years with hearing problems. Patients requiring micro-ear surgeries are invited to Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad on scheduled dates, where surgeries are performed by the ENT team in a modern, state-of-the-art hospital environment at absolutely no cost to the patient.

BGGTS's association with SAHI began in 2015. Since then, BGGTS has sponsored a total of INR 3 Crores for about 40 underprivileged children for CI surgeries & machine upgrades. In FY 2018-19, BGGTS sponsored 13 CI surgeries & machine upgrades successfully, contributing approximately INR 96 Lakhs to SAHI (3 kids in Phase-I, 7 kids in Phase-II, and 3 kids in Phase-III). BGGTS also supported SAHI with CI surgeries for seven kids in FY 2019-20, costing INR 52.5 Lakhs. This gesture from BGGTS has enabled these children to overcome their hearing impairment, transforming their lives towards a fulfilling future.

Parents of beneficiaries and the SAHI management thanked the BGGTS CSR Committee for their support. This philanthropic activity, as part of BGGTS's CSR initiatives, upholds its vision of Reach – Impact – Sustain, thereby making a positive difference in society.
